Cat nicked😡😡

Hi peeps came to my car this morning drove for abit and though great bloody blown exhaust. But oh no some scumbag has cut off my cat😡😡 the thieving b-------s. So has anybody ever removed a down pipe from the car or is it best to let a garage do it. Trying to get the bill as low as pos. I have gotten hold of and exhaust to make it cheaper but not sure about the down pipe removal. Many  thanks

Sorry to hear, nothing's safe is it?!

Have they just hacked it off mid pipe? Whereabouts has it been cut fore and aft of the cat?

Passed the bolts at the cat so down pipe needed and abit off middle section.

You will need to remove the undercover, there's 3 nuts that attach down pipe to the turbo, give them a soaking in penetrating fluid before attempting undoing them.

Thank you for the replies sprayed pen. oil and left but no joy been given quotes for exhaust and though wow. So decided to go through insurance as access was cheaper. Well that was a BIG mistake was told yesterday that car maybe beyond Eco repair and they may scrap it!! 😮 I mean really it's sound everyday I do 50 miles plus to work and they want to scrap it over an exhaust. Cannot say how I feel sorry just venting anger. Total crap so angry.  Anyway thank you for all the advice you have passed on to me. Bit sure if the car is scrapped if the wife will have another galaxy so will see.

Hi all just an update got them to fix the car so have my baby back! 3 new parts from down pipe onwards the cat looks a lot smaller than the one that was nicked though. Anyway Looking forward to many more days and night scrolling through here looking for answers to my problems!  thanks to you all.
