Hi all I have the mfd nav unit Fitted and I'm trying to fit
Reversing camera. I have fitted the camera thro the multimedia
Interface, when I go in reverse the picture comes up for 2~3 seconds
Then flickers erratically for 5 secs then comes back and so on. Tried
The camera thro a stand alone monitor and fine, anyone any ideas?

What type of multimedia interface (MMI) is it and where did you power it from?
Most of them have a cheap controller which requires a VERY good power supply, else it will hunt between PAL and NTSC (which causes flicker on the MFD)

If you pop the cover off the MMI you'll probably find a small (normally blue) potentiometer near the power cables - With the engine running (as you'll need the alternator voltage) give that a tweak and it should correct. You'll need to move it ever so slightly!

Hi Mirez  I have tried powering up from a few different places to see if that made. Difference, the multimedia unit came with the mfd unit I got off eBay to replace mind bout a year ago just got round to fitting the mmu, tbh got sick of the mfd display going blank when I reverse. If memory serves it was yours Mirez

Ahh fair play then and probably was a year ago! - Lazy sod :)

If you pop the cover off the MMI you'll find that blue pot I was on about, give it a gentle tweak and you should find it sorts that out. You might want to pop a drop of glue on it after its set as pots have a habit of moving slightly with vehicle vibrations.

Alternatively, you could remove the reverse feed into the "VID ON" pin - that's what turns the MFD to the reverse camera.

Thanks I will try that tomorrow and let u know, do you have any suggestions to best place to wire the permanent live and the ign live,
Cheers

Not really, I had my own fusebox in the cabin direct from the battery which had that unit on. You want a circuit that's not going to fluctuate much or has little use...

I've also got a 8 fuse fuse box fitted in cabin it was more the ign feed really, would it be ok from back of stereo?

took my my feed direct from the battery and the ignition feed from the rear vent window switch

Cheers Grant havnt had time today will get it done tomorrow will post my progress, thanks

Good choice :)

That's a 12V switched supply which is nice and stable, where I took mine from as well :)
