Sealing Scuttle After Pollen Filter Change

I am holding my ears and putting my hands up that I will never change the pollen filter myself again.

I did change, but now the scuttle does not "flush" with the windscreen. I have checked that all the fittings are in correct place.

How do I seal it? What shall I use? Is it required to be sealed in first place?

2: There were rubber grommets around windscreen "nuts". They were rotten. I cannot find any replacement for them. Please help.

Thanks,
Himanshu

Which scuttle do you mean? Are you referring to the cowling at the bottom of the windscreen that the wiper spindles pass through?

Also, can you confirm what model of vehicle you have as your details state you have a Sharan Mk1 '58 plate!
