Hi,
Can you tell me the purpose of the aircon/econ button.
As far as I can tell the aircon is for airconditioning .Im not sure what the econ button does as there is also an option not to use these 2 buttons and the heating system works.
Thanks

The purpose of the 'ECON' button is to turn off the air conditioning, which uses power from the engine and additional fuel, by switching off the air con it increases fuel ECONomy- hence the name. The climate control unit in automatic mode will automatically switch on the air-con if required to bring the temperature down to whatever temperature is set on the climate control panel, in ECON mode it will prevent the air con from being switched in, obviously the interior will not get as cold in ECON mode, nor will the inside demist as well!

Thanks for reply .I understand what the these two functions do.
My query is, when any of these  2
buttons are not pressed and there is no econ or auto font on display and the heating system is working what mode is it in.
Thanks :)

Sorry, I must have misunderstood your question- in your original post you say: 'I'm not sure what the econ button does'.

In auto mode, the climate control module automatically selects temperature*, fan speed and airflow direction (i.e, windscreen, footwell etc). If the control panel is not showing 'auto' then it is in a 'manual' mode where you can change the required temperature, fan speed, air direction etc.

(*- although the owners handbook states that if you set a temperature manually and then press the 'auto' button it will store your selected temperature)

Thanks, sorry about the first question was a bit whizzy dizzy (that's wot my kids say).
Least I now now the a/c is not on when using manual mode.
Thanks once again :D

I'm fairly sure it IS on when it manual mode!!

Auto : A/C turns on/off as required and the system controls everything to achieve your temperature
Manual : The A/C turns on/off as required to achieve the temperature you set but the fan speed and flow will not change
Econ : The system controls everything as per Auto mode except the A/C will not be turned on.

That's my understanding of it :)
