Hi There!

IÃ,´v been having  problem to get motor running. Checked ignition, and changed a burned kabel clamp, looked at earth straps, drivers door LED flashed a lot after the motor stalled, but not anymore. Relay 27 (30) fixed and tested. Spark and fuel is ok, itÃ,´s turning good (new battery). Sprayed motor startergas, even butane and it wonÃ,´t fire at all?!?!

Searching for fuel cut off reset, cant find it.


Under front chairs, there is small yellow contacts with a flicking function?? Airbag??

Measured and it seems like relay 27 dozent get proper power. DoesnÃ,´t activat on itÃ,´s place as it should.
The car has been hard to get running the week before. And last time, it got running with small extra effort. I put in the gear R (automatic) and it started to misfire, then it stopped. Haven't fired one bit since then...
Today when i tried to start after 12h break. It fired some second, but wouldÃ,´nt start. Think IÃ,´m smelling gas. But not sure.
Please  HELP any ideas?? Questions??

I don't think the 2.8 has the fuel cut off but I may be wrong, its usually found under the front. Passenger seat.
Do not touch the yellow connections without disconnecting battery as they are part of the srs airbag system.
Have you checked the intank fuel pump you should be able to hear it momentarily when switching on ignition.
You may also benefit using vcds to check for fault codes, there is more help with diagnostics in our reference library.

I been thinking about both pups, but one activates mostly when driversdoor opens (i guessed that was in tank) Next when I turn the key, (outside i thought). But I think they operate more irregular now. Not always as they used to.?! When the one outside tan operate, I can hear a "phssss" in front/top of the engine (where the fuel pipes runs)

Read now on other threads, that the connection ring in ignition key may be worn out. So checking that asp.

** Checked ignition by flushing wd40 (or what itÃ,´s called) in. Nothing happened.
But the led in door woke up and gave me code   3.1  so time for Google a bit. Then 8h Sleep break.. ;)

Your last post is referring to a diesel version

according to the wiring diagram the V6 doesn't have a relay marked 30 only the 2.0 and 2.3 engine have this.

See below list of relays for your year, the numbers in brackets refer to the number printed on the relay

Thinking you may have an immobiliser problem have you tried using another ignition key

If still not starting check for fault codes, get one of these leads Link and you can check your own car for fault codes

Hi again, missed the diesel part...  ::)

The thing is that a relay 27 is on itÃ,´s post. Where 30 is on older models. But my relay is marked 444?!? And there is no wire connecting to pin 87, which is th prime function to connect with pin 30. Its very confusing..?!?

Where is the relay 109 placed, that mentions a lot in several threads.

My car has steering at left side so everything is mirrored, even relay panels and so.
But numbers are same anyway.
 

The car is imported from France. The funktionkey have never bin ok, so I shall try programming it now.

109 is diesel only
according to the diagram position 27 is empty and the 444 relay should be in position 7

Diagnosis would say tell you if starting was blocked by immobilizer make sure the small chip is not missing from the key fob see Link

Small chip is on itÃ,´s place, never seen it before. But the key had lost it memory when i bought the car, an IÃ,´ve never botherd to fix it. The standard key without buttons has always worked..

I get so confused by the relay part, I can take a photo of my lovely French manual... The numbers and pictures i ok. But its almost impossible to read/translate...

Tried to program it now, but the car wont go in program mode.
By the way i checked fuel, after outside pump and its coming, question is how hard pressure it should be??
Guess i have to losen tank and look what happens when pump is running.
And if immobilizer has stopped system, isnÃ,´t it strange fuelpumps and spark is comming??

Now i loosened the hose before outside pump and itÃ,´s a good flow, I keep looking at relays, the ones I opened yet seem to have a bad brazing here and there...
The ford garage mechanic calld, and wanted me to order a salvor to pick it up. So the could make some money  [bash]  ;D
Think this French manual is not so accurate either..
Fix pics later.

The key fixing got better, programmode and key confirmed. But door led doesn't flash with it, just extinguished in the keys last flash

Checking diagnose reading tomorrow, but is thinking of the oilpump, maybe it needs cleaning. And doesn't manage to push hydraulic valve lifters enough..   

Has to be camshaft chain thatÃ,´s broken.. (lower)  [CRY]
