Hi guys, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

So i finally got my self a 03 galaxy ghia 1.9 tdi, But its come with a few problems.

First things first, Here is a list.

i have been browsing this forum  as a guest before signing up. and i was reading up on how to check each sensor to see if there was a fault in one of them. because there was a tone for a few seconds coming from under the passenger seat. I checked in there no water so i check on the front sensor row. All of them work (back and front) apart from one of the front ones, i have ordered and got it in front of me a sensor. But my question is how do i get into the back of the front bumper to change it. if someone could advice on this :)

I also have a sligh juddering off the steering wheel someone's time i start up, and when i change up gear most of the time. I did look at the guide on here about a inner cv?? if i could get advice on this.

Also. I have a problem with the front passenger side window not opening the front windows are electric. so some advice need if possible.

I have noticed the back passenger door loom wire has broke off as well. like its been snapped on the wire join,. would this mean i would need a new door? and if so is this a costly respire.

also could someone give a rough estimate, on a repire job on these MOT advisory.

near side front brake pipe slightly corroded.
offside front macpherson strut has slight movement in the upper support bearing assembly.
Rear lower (bothside) brake pipe slightly corroded.
rear brake pads wearing thin
front steering system has slight free play detected at steering wheel.
rear (bothside) brake hose has slight corrosion to ferrules.

Apart from all above, everything else seems fine, i do believe i need to top up air con. would the car tell me if this needs happening?

Hello and  welcome5 and your in the right place :)

The front sensors come out from the front with the black strips that are just clipped in.

The steering juddering you say when you start up, do you mean when you start the engine or start driving?

The wiring breaking in the door gaiter and tailgate gaiter is a common problem, these can all be repaired by cutting out the bad wiring and replacing with new wires soldered and heat shrink connectors.

As for the advisory items

When brake pipes are worded slightly corroded, clean off the corrosion with emery paper and lightly grease the pipes

Changing strut support bearing etc will not completely get rid of movement

Play in steering wheel would need further investigation.

Leaks in aircon are common you could either just have it vacuumed and regassed at kwik fit or get a mobile aircon specialist to check it out for you.

If you have the digital display flashing this denotes a fault on the system.

some times is judders, some time it can start up with out much juddering, and when i accelerate hard is judders.

I will look into the other problems then, i will have a look at getting the sensor out today.

further development with this, i installed the new sensor, but it seems there is no power going through..

Trying to get a clear picture with your problem!! when you start the engine and rock the steering without moving the car is there any juddering and noises, or does the juddering only happen when the car is moving?

I think you need to scan for fault codes as this will help with diagnosis, you can get a lead from ebay for under Ã,£10 and scan your own vehicle, have a read of the link below.

i will look into this thanks.

It does seem likely that you have a problem with one or both drive shafts, are there any splits in the rubber boots where water and dirt could have entered.
Jack the car and turn each wheel, does it turn freely without any tightness.

Yes that is the type of lead you need.

Ok. i will order the wire tomorrow. thank you.

And i will jack car in next hour and have a look. If they turn freely what else should i look for?

have you looked at this post below with the short video

You will need to remove the undercover to get a good view of the driveshafts look for tell tale rusty marks, also when turning wheels listen for noises and movement in joints.

ok so i will use that link as a guide thanks i will get back to you :)

i did also forget to mention, it feel's like it looses power on first gear as well. I will jack car up at some point today, didn't have chance yesterday and also try sorting this window problem...

to update on this, me and inlaw took car to garage today and he said its clutch, quoted me Ã,£300 to have done. He said its worst he ever felt something like that...

I have got the lead, i plugged into car, did a test on perking sensors, and it said back left faulty, but when i check it its fine, its the only the front one what isn't working. so im not sure what to make off that reading.

Swop the faulty one with one of the others see off the fault moves with it.

ok well i did swap the front one with another port that works and its not the sensor its the the thing it plugs in seems there is no power going through it.

Should i move the both back right sensors and scan again?

The looms are quite frail and break easily if after moving the sensor to a different port and scanning shows the same position is faulty then suspect broken wiring.
