Does anyone know if I can take out the 3 switches on my mk1 1.9tdi and put in place the electronic unit ?? as it only seems to be plugs,this way I can put in the one piece radio/cd player rds6000

Probably not impossible if you had a donor car but I don't think I would attempt that as you would need to modify a hell of a lot of wiring and possibly the heater unit itself.

In a nutshell no, its not a plug n' play swap. You'll need to swap a host of wiring and convert the manual cable controls to electric motors. As above, you'll need a full donor car and a couple of days
