Hi Peeps,

I have been searching info on where the washer pipe is routed to the rear on a 2010 Mk3 Galaxy, there is plenty of info on the earlier models but can't find mine, I can hear the washer pump working and (being partially deaf I can't hear where from) I can hear water squirting, I lifted the trim by the front passenger door and cannot see the pipe, either it is much further under the carpet or is routed differently on the '10' model? any help would be much appreciated,

Many Thanks in advance,

Mole

Hi gregers

Wow! Thanks for your speedy reply, I can see the components, but I need to find where the pipe runs, any help is appreciated though, I don't want to start getting any electrical problems associated with the earlier models,

Many Thanks

Sorry, just to clarify my post above (just read it again and realised could cause confusion :-(  ) I meant to say is the picture is very helpful as to what pipes ect' are on the car, but it doesn't show where they run, I did not see the pipe when I lifted the carpet fitted on the passenger side door sill, I am wondering if they are run via a different route altogether ?

Hi Ford Folk, just an update, as I am working most of the week, don't get much time to look due to being dark when I get home, checked behind both rear removable panels and still no sign of the pipe line, and also tried to look under the headliner, but was worried about getting dirty prints on there, could only see the metal box section where the pipe enters from the rear, not sure  if it exits at the front of the box section, when I get a proper chance, I will investigate further & I will also look in the drivers side foot-well, when I find it I will report back so in future, anyone else has the problem, the answer will be here,

Regards

Mole

update: took the drivers side door trim off today, carpet saturated, also had partner sit in car while operating rear screen wash, sounds like water spraying behind the centre of the dashboard??? anyone any idea if the washer pipe runs behind the dash, sounds a little crazy to me? any help appreciated peeps,

Regards

Yes, the rear washer pipe runs across the front of the bonnet near the radiator, then up the drivers side on the inside of the bonnet.
It then makes a small deviation and appears to go in through the bulkhead about half a foot from the edge on the drivers side.

Tracing back from the rear washer jet it goes across the roof and appears to go down the RH side. Ignore forums referring to the MK2 Galaxy; on this model it runs down the LH side near the passenger footwell.

The problem I have is I think it has disconnected somewhere. The pump and relay are working. I can hear running water at that point on the rising column next to the small quarter window on the drivers side. Nothing is coming out of the pipe by the washer jet (I disconnected it to check).

Does anyone know exactly where it runs on the inside?

And how to you remove the trim on the RH column?

Hi Byteguru, Thanks for the replies, I know the trim by the quarter light window on the door post just unclips, the whole trim around the window comes away in one piece, it has the round panel type plastic press studs holding it on, careful not to drop them when removing the trim, could lose one or two, the pipe runs down the pillow and disappears behind the dash, it appears there is little access to the pipework behind the dash, I have recently changed my galaxy for a later one, so don't I have the problem any longer, Fords do now :-) I would suggest run a new length of pipe from the point under the bonnet near the windscreen where the pipe is visible, route it in some way up to the pillow and add a new connector at some point behind or above the pillow trim and bypass the original, I would think that would be far easier than removing any of the dash to access the pipework there,
