Has anybody fitted one of these recently because I want to  buy it from VW as it's usually cheaper than Frauds.
The reason I ask is because I've been told the VW one doesn't fit because it's been modified.Has anyone found this to be the case.

I replaced one recently with an intermotor replacement from my local spares shop, I found the new replacement easier to fit as it is slightly different in design, the original fouls the steering column when twisting to remove, the new one didn't have this problem I also didn't need to push or pull the plunger after fitting which was necessary before.

I ended up buying one from VW because they had one in on the shelf,and after a close inspection it wasn't that much difference to the old one.I had to depress the pedal to get the old one out but not to put the new one in.This was because the cruise control had stopped working the glow plug light was flashing and ENGINE WORKSHOP was on but the brake lights still worked.
Thanks for your experience  Chris with the  switch you've fitted.
