Hi all can someone help me out I've had the cambelt and water pump done on my ford galaxy 1.9tdi mk2 and have lost back heater blowing cold is it possible to get rid of the air lock in any way or when changing  the system is it best to just take off one of the radiator bottom hoses and want to flush and refill but still don't know where the best place is to put the hose in to flush it as hasent ever been done many thanks  :)

Flushing depends on how thorough you want to be.

To flush the engine you will need to remove the thermostat housing from engine and top hose from radiator.

The radiator should be reverse flushed (from bottom to top)

Front heater pipes accessed after removing bulkhead scuttle plate (3 bolts)

Rear heater and booster can be done from under car.

There's no bleed points fitted as the system should self bleed with engine running.

Pre requisites are;
Car is best facing uphill if possible
The small return hose to the coolant bottle has a restriction fitted inside the pipe make sure this hole is clear
Make sure auxiliary coolant pump is working (located behind fuel filter) runs all the time engines running and for 3 minutes after switch off (not 130 engine)
