Hello. I'm hoping someone might be able to help me. I have a 2005 Galaxy 1.9tdi 115 with lack of power issue. Runs a lot better with maf disconnected. On 3rd maf now. Changed map sensor and little paper filter. Vcds saying maf, open or short to ground. P1144. Someone has told me there is a fuse for the maf, but they couldn't remember exactly where. If anyone could tell me where the fuse is located, {if there is one} that would be great. Thanks

If you run engine with MAF disconnected it will give an open circuit code, clear the code with MAF connected then after a drive recheck for codes. Does power return after an engine restart?

With VCDS lite (full version) need a code clearing or want to scan for faults in the north kent area, PM me. All for a pint of Strongbow.

Morning Chris. It flags up open circuit code always with the maf connected. Even after resetting the ecu with the battery off for twenty minutes or so, after refitting the maf. My thinking is probably a wire broken maybe to the ecu, but if there is a fuse that covers the maf, i'd like to check that first. There's never any change in power with it turned off & on.

I have the TIS manual problem is it's older than your car so may not be relevant or correct, it does show a 12 volt feed from fuse 34 but this also powers engine ECU so it's unlikely that as your car still runs but you could check for power at the MAF plug to number 2 terminal on the MAF which is a black and yellow wire, I have heard of wiring going brittle and breaking in the area of the MAF plug, worth having a look inside the covering.

Thanks for the tips Chris. I'll try them in the next couple of days.
