Hi everyone! Now, as a handy bunch who are used to finding creative and practical  solutions to problems, it would be interesting to know what measures you have taken to reduce your fuel costs (not just diesel and petrol, but also things like electricity and gas for the house) during these rip-off times in which we live in.

I did think about getting the coal fire going again, but it turns out that coal is just as expensive as gas these days. Plus it's tricky to get hold of logs. I've done all the usual insulation and so on but that darned gas and electricity bill is still too darned high.

Any handy little practical tips and tricks very much appreciated!

I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.
