Hi Guys, great to have found you... wish I had found you Before I changed the cam belt... what a job.
Anyway, wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction for both rear doors not locking, right one no alarm and window up nor down.
Guess it's electrics but where to start?

Maybe someone might recommend a code reader for my old bus.

Thanks in advance
Cheers

Hello, good morning, and welcome to The Forum our new friend!

Have you checked for broken wires where they go from the body of the car into the door via that flexible rubber bendy tube thing... the wires often split there

I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.

As above, VCDS lite and a laptop will do most of your needs, just need a suitable cable such as https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304127186472

The basic one will do most tasks, you just can't scan the whole car in a single scan (all modules) and access some of the coding functions. But for basic fault fixing it will be fine.

THanks guys for your help, invaluable.....repaired some broken wires in rear door shuts, but found it impossible to undo the plugs on the front doors, there simply isn't enough space to unscrew the plug, just goes tight against the door.....
I think speaker wires are broken as sound only from one speaker....

Did a 1600 kilometre trip a week or so ago and found that it was getting very sluggish on throttle pick and would not pull at all under 2200 revs goings up small hills.... concluded that the EGR valve  and turbo needed a clean, does that sound right?

Cheers

Strange you can?t remove the plugs as mine came out with door fully open, they have to be designed to come out for when doors are removed etc.

Sounds like sticky turbo vanes to me but we?ll worth cleaning egr out at same time

Theres a chance the plug on the back (in the door pillar) has come apart - its made of several smaller plugs that slide together. You should be able to rotate the plug attached to the door and remove it, if you can't, it would suggest you need to have a look at the pilar side as well possibly. The design isn't the best, as the retaining ring can come unclipped and lets the plug fall inside the pillar if your not aware of it.
