Ford Galaxy Starting issues

Hi all,
I have a 56 plate Ford Galaxy 2.0l tdci. Driving home the other night from work my auxilary belt shreaded and power steering went out, quickly followed by the electrics. Managed to limp her home. I have changed the auxilary belt, all pulleys are free and spinning. I removed the battery and fully charged it. Having put the battery back on, correctly! So belt all changed, battery fully charged and also jump leads from another galaxy connected I attempted to start my galaxy. She turns over but doesnt fire up.
Please any advise or solutions gratefully recieved as need her back up and running soon for the MOT!
I'm no mechnic so please plain english solutions and pics would be a massive help.

These suffer from problems with relays, which may be what your finding here just as coincidence with the other faults.

There is an LED on the drivers door, it should light up when ignition is switched on, Do you see it rapidly binking when you try to start the car?

If so, have a look on here for relay 30 or 109 (will be 109 in your case, but the same fix applies either way) and that should give you the solution to start looking at.

If it doesn't look to be that, I'd start looking around the auxillary fusebox next - check for any blown or broken fuses there, or any wires not how they should be (either not connected, or looking melted).

The other possibility would be if you disturbed the fuel supply in some way while fixing the other bits, if so you may have airlocked it somehow.

I would suspect car is a mark3 as it says 2.0tdci,so VAG related issues like relay 109 wonââ,¬â,,¢t be an issue here.

As it happened after removing battery I would double check connections are all good and maybe disconnect earth and leave off for half hour and trying again. If still same you need it scanning with forscan or alike to check for fault codes etc
