Hi all I have change my drop links today and I still have the same knocking noise as did before I change them. Anybody have any ideas. When I physically rocked the car you can hear a gentle knocking noise. Any help is appreciated

might be the roll restrictor bar?
open bonnet with the engine off and try and rock the engine,if it does it easily then it may be that?

Can you describe the knocking?

Anti roll bar bushes can sound similar to drop link bushes.

Hi I've just checked all that I can and nothing seams to be worn. Then when I moved the passenger side front wheel I have a knocking noise the track rod ends move when I moved them up and down and I think the knocking is coming from there. Should there be any play in the track rod ends to the ball joint well when I say play they move up and down with my hand. Both sides move the same.

No, there shouldnt be any free movement at all in the track rods!! The ball joints will allow it to pivot forward and back a little but no up down or in out!

There should be no up and down movement, any slight movement you can feel by hand will be greater when the vehicle is travelling along the road.

So sorry I have worded this wrong. When I said moved up and down. I meant to say I can twist them on the ball joint but there is no movement up and down or forwards and backwards. Sorry for the confusion. When I put a hand either side of the wheel and move the wheel there is a Gentle knock sounding like when your tapping a screw driver on metal

Very little wear on the links
can be quite a noise on the road

Tony

Is there any visual signs apart from the rattle

There is some movement in the wheel when I move it and the knock happens then is that a sign?

Hi had the track rod end replaced today, everything seams to be ok but rattle/ knocking sound still there😡 anybody for any ideas? Maybe ghe steering rack? When I put my hands 9 and 3 and move the wheel the knocking noise appears.
