Had a leak in my Aircon system which I found. New pipe circa Ã,£170. Someone mentioned JB-Weld (Ã,£7) - metal strengthened epoxy adhesive. Applied all round dodgy pipe after thorough cleaning and sanding.

System pressure tested and regassed today for Ã,£45. My fingers are crossed.

Anyone got any experience of this epoxy stuff? Seems to have bonded really well to my pipe.

I guess time will tell.

No experience with it but I would suggest it depends on which side of the system it's on - where is the pipe, is it on the high pressure or low pressure side?

Low side, but the bumf says that the cured adhesive can withstand up to 3000 psi. Hmmm.

We'll see....

Assuming when gassed up the guy put some dye in, usually bright green in colour so should show up easily if any leak appears.

With VCDS lite (full version) need a code clearing or want to scan for faults in the north kent area, PM me. All for a pint of Strongbow.

Oh Yes - I'm watching with interest.

I'm sure the product isn't as good as it says on the packet, but even if it's half as good it should have plenty of strength to hold it together.

last time i used that stuff

was still working 5 years later

Wow 3000psi - should be easily able to do the job then. Keep us posted!
