Had to share this - my father in law - recently the proud owner of a vauxhall insignia (i tried to tell him) is a gadget freak and has bought every percievable optional extra for his SRi. So yesterday he buys and has fitted the latest snooper speed camera unit and goes out to test it driving many miles trying to locate speed cameras and see if the snooper works. Needless to say two hours, a fine and 3 points worse off he returns after failing to switch it on and learning what the beeps meant. there is a cruel irony to this i thought.  :-[

Did he laugh or cry? I remember the day's of having a snooper (I thought they were illegal now?) and tbh it only ever alerted me to automatic doors at supermarkets! The only other time was a laser gun but since it warned me as it was fired it was somewhat useless! That was in 2001 though - are they much better now?

Ha. Actually my wife finds her camera detector very useful indeed. If it wasn't for the loud warning beeps she would not know when to stop doing her make up, talking on the phone or filing her nails and actually look out of the windscreen, now would she?
