Galaxy 2010, rainwater gets in somewhere as it is wet under the pedals

I have a problem with rainwater gets in somewhere as it is wet under the pedals and under the mats. Have checked the windshield with soapy water (outside) and compressed air from the inside: the windshield glue etc seems apparently intact.
I read in another forum that the galaxy/(s.max) had a known problem regarding this, anyone knows about these issues ?

I think the known issue is leaking from the washer fluid line but that is a passenger side problem.

I believe that the older Sharan/Alhambra/Galaxy models had/have a problem with the open voids immediately below and behind the bonnet hinges. If I remember the gist of the report correctly, these can fill with rubbish, such as leaves if you park near a tree, the rubbish blocks the drain holes, and then rain water fills the voids and overflows into the interior.

Does anybody else remember reading about that?

Whenever I wash our Alhambra, Henry Hoover accompanies me and his nozzle gets stuck into those voids to try and keep them clear.

PS - and it might be worth checking out Daddyfixit's recent posts about leaking roof rails.

PPS!! And there is a very old post on Honest John about the Galaxy AC drain pipe kinking and causing flooding, exactly as you describe.
