On changing the bulb for the high level brake light, one of the spring clips fell off into the 'body' of the tail gate. I tried using a telescopic magnet but without success!   The light does fit back with one clip but I would like to have two clips.

Does anyone know where I can get another clip without having to buy a complete brake light? [bash]

I've bought individual fixings from the local Ford dealer.  They always have to order them in and you need to be sitting down when you hear the price.

I've looked on microcat and can't see that part listed seperately unfortunately. it might be worth contacting either a dealer, or somewhere like https://www.allcarpartsfast.co.uk/ may be able to assist. Part number helps greatly in doing that. Alternatively take a photo of the bit you have (I'd guess there is 2 of them the same?) and try contacting some of the people advertising cars for breaking on eBay etc and see if they can help.

Thanks.  I tried that web site but no luck there.  I had already tried some breakers without luck, so maybe a call to a Ford dealer locally.  Wish me luck!

Sorry, I've been a bit busy for internet chatting.  I don't know the number but some judicious googling might bring it up, if you look for non-specific things "brake light attachment Ford".  Good luck.

Would you believe it!  I had tied the right back with some string but it snapped after a while.   I opened up the trim to gain access and lo and behold one of the clips fell out. ::)

I then secured the clip in place with some steel wire but also ran lengths of steel wire through the the tailgate fixing one end of each to opposite ends of the high level light. ;D

I pulled the two wires until the clip clicked into place and secured the two wires as extra security.  I might add that the two wires had entered the tailgate at different places so I was able to secure them together. :)
