Hi All,
I have just bought a set of 17 inch ford alloys for my MK2 Galaxy they are fitted with 225/45/17 xl tyres are these an ok fitment for my Galaxy?
Cheers,
Chas.

Tyre size is good, but when you say Ford alloys, be aware that the MKII Galaxy is really a VW Sharan, and the PCD is 5x112 like many VWââ,¬â,,¢s and not 5x108 like on ââ,¬Ëœrealââ,¬â,,¢ Fordââ,¬â,,¢s..

The chap assures me these alloys will fit my Gal here is a picture of inside wheel.
Cheers,
Chas.

That tells the dimensions on the wheel, but not the PCD (bolt pattern) but im not sure that the MK1/2 gals had 17ââ,¬Â alloys as an option, 16ââ,¬Â yes.. and if its genuine Ford wheels for any other Ford than Galaxy MK1/2 it wont fit, you need VW PCD (5x112) for your Gal MK2
Are there stamped ââ,¬Å"PCD 112ââ,¬Â or something like that anywhere on the back of the rims or under the centercap?

225/45/17 is a listed tyre size in the Mk2 Galaxy owner's handbook, I'm pretty sure 17's were a factory option as well, either as part of a sports pack or in their own right. As long as the tyres fitted to said alloys are the correct load rating there shouldn't be an issue.

But that 4m5j1007bb number, appears to relate to either a Mk2 Focus, c-max or a Mondeo MK3 wheel.... It is at least 5 stud attachment, but as stated above, that doesn't mean it will actually fit.

Would suggest its a good idea to try a wheel and make sure it does fit before you buy any tyres for it

I did end up buying a set of Galaxy alloys off someone locally on ebay after he brought them to fit on his mk3 galaxy only to discover they wouldn't fit as they were off an earlier one.

OP- an image of the complete wheel from the outside may give us an idea as to which model of Ford they might have come from? As the other posters have said, the first thing to make sure of is that they physically fit on the vehicle. In my haste to reply, I was only looking at the size of tyre quoted- which the Mk2 Galaxy handbook confirms is a size of tyre that was fitted when equipped with the factory fit 17 inch alloys, but that doesn't mean that the wheels in question are from a Mk2 model Galaxy!
