what engine to buy?

Hi, i did a few searches but couldn't find the answer to this although I'm sure I've read it here somewhere.

Seat alhambra 1.9tdi 1999 81kw.

finally thrown a conrod right through the front of the block. probably my fuel pump alteration techniqu
but think it may have been when it redlined when turbo blew. anyway, I need to buy a new motor but couldn't remember how to tell what  engine it is. it is the type with ought the injection loom.

Tell us more about how you altered the fuel pump. Are there benefits to modifying the pump please

Hi There, thanks for the replies, I only changed the seal (rubber gasket) on the upper and lower sections of the fuel pump. i was unable to get it running properly again before the engine went unfortunately. It takes very very fine adjustments as the engine is running and then when you tighten the 4 fastening bolts it always moves slightly out.
Not a simple job, that's what i found anyway.

mine is 81kw 110bhp. would that be the AHU?
from what i could see the AHU had 66KW 90 hp

His there any other way that i can confirm that it is an AFN before committing to buy and ship the engine? anything that is unique on the engine that would make it stand out from the others?

Just make sure it comes with a good warranty. You hear all sorts of horror stories about junk reconditioned engines. It sounds like a very big procedure, changing the engine

There would have been a sticker on the top edge of the cam belt cover if it's still legible or try your registration document where it says variant this should be the code.
