After what felt like a disasterous MOT last year, with:

Front and rear pads & discs
Front near calliper replacement
All new brake lines front and back
Inner CV joint Nearside + boot
Nearside front suspension component mounting rot
(As we all suffer, so PLENTY welding needed...)

Getting it all sorted was a pretty penny or 2.

So this year, I dreaded it just a little bit;

It failed on a:
cv boot

Motifyingly enough, I got an advisory on:
A ball joint, slight oil leak (from a ââ,¬Ëœlooseââ,¬â,,¢ sump plug)
Worn arm pin or bush

I got the garage to chuck a boot on for me, so Iââ,¬â,,¢m setting myself off for a full front end refresh (excluding springs, damper & top mount).
What brands are particularly good these days, as Iââ,¬â,,¢ve not followed stuff as often as I used to, and havenââ,¬â,,¢t posted much in here as I once did.
Iââ,¬â,,¢ve saw the daft kits on eBay that have everything in from wishbones, arbs, tie rods, ball joints and all pins, bolts and bushes, but quality wouldnââ,¬â,,¢t be amazing Iââ,¬â,,¢d assume (although I did buy a set for an old A4 B6 for a full front end arm set for Ã,£100 & it saw over 2 years before selling to my cousin, who had it for a further near-on 2 years without any issues, too!).

AUTODOC any good for parts? They seem very cheap, but read a few things about longer delivery.

Doesnââ,¬â,,¢t everyone just use Euros Parts these days
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.
