i have just bought a 2002 ford galaxy ghia and the key just turns in the driver door. Can not unlock with fob either. Also having trouble with turn signals. right hand turn everything works. left turn nothing works just a click  noise. as new to ford galaxy any help would be much appreciated.

sounds like the lock barrel paddle is broken, you can buy a repair kit on ebay.look under galaxy/sharan/alhambra.
does the rest of the car unlock with the fob?if not then it needs programming to the car.

fob will not unlock car at all

Sounds like you have a few issues to me,the door lock as already said sounds like it has failed.

Remote fob could just need programming or blown fuse caused by the below?

The electrical glitches have a good check of wiring going to doors and tailgate as they are prone to breaking causing short circuits.

to reprogram the fob you need a working drivers door lock - the paddle fix mentioned above. If you have a lock on the passenger side that works (some of the older mk2s have the locks on both doors, don't think the later ones do), you can swap the handles over, but get the broken paddle fixed anyway else it will only cause you grief later on.

Or alternatively take the drivers door handle off, and try to program the fob using a flat screwdriver to turn the lock bit (put handle back on afterwards else anyone with a screwdriver can open it!). Still get the paddle bits, but that might help so you can see whats going on. Be aware its possible for the lock barrel to fall out if the paddle has broken while your there.

it never crossed my mind to switch door handles will do that this weekend when i also do the fuse box

I found that out on my old mk1 as the drivers side barrel was missing, and I wanted to have the same key for ignition and door (no remote locking on it at that point, added a kit later on to sort that). I was going to swap the barrel over and then realised I didn't need to actually do that.

Its one of these your after to repair the lock BTW.

Various other ones available at differing prices, but should give you an idea what your looking at.

Got a whole handle with new lock and key here  if thatââ,¬â,,¢s any use.

Bought it and didnââ,¬â,,¢t end up using it.
