hi all, a few days ago i got my parking sensors working after establishing that i had a dead sensor in the front. i repair it and its all working great until............i used my rear washer and noticed that the stream of water wasn't great so investigated. now unfortunately i had been jetting the water for quite some time [OOPS] because i was trying to get rid of the smelly stagnant water inside the bottle and i found that the connector had came undone slightly thus allowing water to be jetted straight into my car under the passenger side carpet. yup you got it, this resulted in the control box for the parking sensors being submerged in water.

will my sensors work again once the leads are completely dried out? i have dried the control box and it doesn't work. in fact, the button for the parking sensors has stopped illuminating now too  :(

Oops :(

Had it dried out thoroughly before you tried to power it again it may have worked but the lack of anything would indicate its probably dead :(

The leads won't be that badly effected, dry them off quickly and apply some WD40 to the ends. The module needs to be perfectly dry before you try again, open it up and dry off any residue then use a hair drier to warm it up before rebuilding...

yup i had opened it up and dried it off with a hairdryer, the first i knew of it not working was when i put it in reverse and i didn't get the beep, that was before i took it all out and dried it

i have a new module connected and im getting the little clicks from every single sensor but no audible on rear or front, do both speakers have to be working for the sound to work?

Sorry to hijack the thread but is anyone on here selling a cheap sensor?? I have one dead one :-(

Mark (Mirez) had some for sale a while back, see here.
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

i have a couple, i can sell you one if you like :P

I know this is an old thread but thought I'd ask here rather than start a new one.

Has anyone got a spare rear parking sensor for sale for my Galaxy?

Stuart.
The more I learn makes me realise how little I know.
