Hi Guys

I have completed all repairs on my TDi but I noticed that the steering has a grumble and a bit of vibration when turning from side to side.  I thought - aha that'll be the alternator pulley - and as I ha one in stock I changed it - yet no improvement.   Any ideas?  It goes for it's MOT on Friday.

Typically, thats the sign of a seized top mount bearing. The grumbling and vibration is the bearing slipping inside the mount instead of rotating.

Hmmm... thats a real pain in the arse - I just replaced the offside strut, bearing and mount!.  It was doing this when i brought the car back from the original MOT so I have to assume it is the nearside mount - which has hardly any movement at all.
