I notice there are a few members up in the north east and was wondering if anyone can recommend some decent places to eat and have a few beers?

I am up there from Monday and will have a car,I will be in newton aycliffe.

Newton Aycliffe is a trek from Newcastle, which is where I would recommend, but Durham isn't far!

What you looking for specifically? Evening meal, lunch, beer fest, etc.?

Somewhere for evening meal and few pints,we are going to zen in Durham on Monday so looking for recommendations for the other evenings.

New Fat Buddha on the seafront at Sunderland.  Not tried it myself. 

Small, family-owned Italian place nearby.  Little Italy, just opposite Morrison's.  SR6 8AB

Beamish Hall Stables is excellent.  Has a microbrewery on site.  Recommend the Silver Buckles IPA. Behind the main hotel.  DH9 0YB.
