Hello everyone! As per title, does anyone know if 045121011HX is the correct part number for my water pump? My car is 06 ASZ1 engine code. Also, should I get genuine or can I go with SKF/Meyle/Febi ones?
If that part no is correct, I could get the genuine one for around Ã,£40!
Thanx for any replies!

Don't know part number but for Ã,£40 I would go genuine parts if was me.

045121011 is the correct number for an ASZ1 engine (well all the PD engines), the HX part normally are just revision numbers.

Looking here, I'm thinking that the 'X' suffix on the end could mean that it's remanufactured as it says 'detail restored at the factory' in the notes. Just a semi educated guess, that could be why the price is lower as well, as it's not an entirely new part.
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

Thanx all for the replies! If I were to get the genuine pump, I'd have to return my old pump to get to the Ã,£40 price. If my old pump is not a genuine one then the price would be more like Ã,£60 as I wouldn't get any money back for it. That's the reason I was asking if I'd be ok getting some othef make. I've heard that SKF are good too. Thanx again guys.

I had a vw recon for my old Passat awx engine and it carried same warranty as a new one so didn't see any issue having one.

I didn't realise the old one had to be genuine to get your Ã,£20 surcharge back?
As for other makes so long as it's a known make like skf etc then they will all be much of a muchness I should imagine, all comes down to price really if a genuine is comparable to aftermarket then I would probably opt for the genuine.
