I have just broken the lid on the padded storage box in the rearmost compartment at the side.
I think the whole thing comes as one unit, lid and box. It looks easy to remove and replace. Any ideas as to best place to obtain one? Also, what is it officially called?

Any help welcomed. Its a siver Galaxy tdi130 late 2003 53 reg.

Its a slight pain to remove but comes out with patience - there is a screw in the hatch area that has to come out as well.

You already got it right lol, Its official name is "Rear Storage Compartment Box Assy" - looks like the lid is available separately ;)

I just had the lid problem myself.
I found that the hinge pin had actually
slid out giving the appearance
of broken unit
managed to replace pin
back to normal
which part is broken?

Tony

Unfortunately, its the hinge itself has snapped off from the lid section. My own fault, some stacked up jumbo bags of bark fell over during cornering, and gave it quite a whack. Doh!

Finally got round to sorting this. The hinge had snapped away from the lid, taking a 1/4 inch square with it.
Cleaned up the edges, slipped a cut to size section of plastic card underneath, then superglued together. The plastic card gives more grip than just glueing the edges, but also removed one of the hold up spring bits to reduce stress on join. still stays up, just feels a bit lighter. Saved a fortune tho!

That is good news.
when you glued in card
how did you get the top material off the lid?

Tony

Only had to push the credit card in about an inch, and there was enough of a gap at the edge.
Did wonder if the whole of the top fabric would come off in case I had to visit a scrapper and the trim was different, but seems quite tightly fixed. In end only needed to just push card in as far as it would go then pull back out and trim.
I also scored the card surface to increase grip for the glue.

that was the problem I had
but was fortunate in the damage
well done on the thinking
