bent splash guard

Had a strange squeeling sound coming from the n/s wheel at low speeds so i took the wheel off and found the brake disc splash guard was bent in and touching the disc!!! am I the only one to have had this problem?

I've had this in a Mondeo before, caused by plowing through a puddle at high speed

funnily enough i had this on my lexus,iirc the metal bends through heat/water aliens etc,but it was very prominent going round corners.
