When parking up after a long journey in my galaxy i get a strong smell of buring rubber. Any ideas. T.I.A

You've been spinning the wheels up a bit too much?

Seriously though, in order to give any useful kind of response you'd need to be a bit more specific- whereabouts is the smell coming from- engine bay, through the cabin air vents, underneath the car etc? It could be any number of things.
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

Through the vents and you can also smell it when you go near the front of the car. It smells like a slipping belt. But my mechanic as checked them n says there fine

Maybe alternator clutch pulley seizing causing slip? do you hear any schreiking noises.

My mechanic as checked this as he says its common and no, no noise just smell. Cheers

Has he taken belt off and physically rotated alternator pulley to make sure it is not seized and does freewheel in one direction?

Also do you get any indications the DMF could be failing?

Yes hes had the belt off n the fly wheel n clutch seem fine
