adjusting head lights

have wheel by switch but lights do not move should the switch click into each position as mine just turns with no positive stop for each setting

Firstly, they only move if the headlights are on. If they are on but the motors are not moving then chances are the leveling sensor inside the headlight has failed - quite common :(

Also no, the wheel isn't indented it should move freely.

Same with mine but I got to it too late the track on varistor is knackered so no fixing it. Use the guide by mirez ASAP to save you from changing motors.

thanks for the replies i will have a poke around the car just passed the mot so not too worried about it till i start dragging the caravan around
forgot to say it is both lights that dont move and dont get any noise from the motors and no errors on vag com i think

You won't see any errors in VCDS as they aren't monitored and unfortunately they do tend to go at the same time due to the nature.
