Hi.
New to this forum, so apologies if I make mistakes.
I recently purchased a 2002 Galaxy which had a conversion into a micro camper from new, carried out by Wheelhome.
On the PDI, the dealer reported that the passenger side shaft was noisy, and supposedly replaced it, along with the coupling. Upon delivery, I noticed that it was still noisy, and had it checked. The solution was a new wheel bearing, which did the job. No more than 40 miles later, as we were leaving Norfolk to drive to southern France, I noticed that there was a judder from the front drivers side when turning the wheel to the left. This occurred at about 20+ mph. We drove to France with no problems by taking care when I turned left. In all other directions there is no problem.
On arrival in France, I booked the car into a local garage, who found that the shaft was never replaced, or was replaced with a recon unit. The shaft was loose. This has been replaced, but the juddering noise is still there. I get the impression that the garage is not sure what to do. Has anyone come across a similar problem, and if so what I would really appreciate any information or suggestions on what to try, as I am reluctant to drive back until it is fixed.

Hello and welcome!

A loose shaft is a bit of a worry! It could be that it's now damaged the threads or that its allowed it to operate in an unusual position and caused some wear. Driveshafts on the Galaxy are known weak points with lots of cheap after market copies being available but seriously not worth it!

The problem is that I doubt you will be able to get your money back if you pay a French garage and then try and claim it back from the PDI company.

Hello
Im new too was wondering if you have sorted this as my 2005 galaxy does the same but worst in reverse ive had it at garage and they said nothing wrong!! Definately juddering can feel it thru the peddle aswell now driveshaft and wheelbearings were changed a few months back seems one thing after another now
