I have a 2007 Galaxy Mk3, no real issues other than the boot does not open anymore? It worked perfectly about 2-3 weeks ago either using the button on the boot handle or using the key fob to open it remotely. But one day I closed it and then nothing works anymore, no noise or anything from the boot when i press the boot button or even standing next to the boot and pressing the key fob button, the indicators flash to let me know that it has received the boot unlock, but no noise from the solenoid/locking mechanism? I have "heard" that it is possible to pull the interior of the boot trim away and get something to unlock the mechanism, but as I can't see anything at all and don't even have any idea of what to look for if I could see. I am at a loss and just about looking to take it someone to sort it?

Really need some ideas/help with some clear images of what I should be looking for on the inside of the boot lock maybe?

Not happy and really not good when I have to carry around 3 kids and a double buggy (forced to put it in the boot via the middle row of seats. Not good at a major food shopping chain either when i pull up for collection of my shopping with my large booted vehicle and open the passenger door to push the shopping bags in  ???

Thanks in anticipation, Tim.

had this last year on my smax, turned out to be the wires in the rear hatch gator, open the hatch and mine had broken on the left hand side.

my mistake was.......this was the last place i looked, after stripping down everything and checking the door switch etc.

so i would start there 1st lol.

Now you know what to look for once you've got the tailgate open  ;)
Looks like you need to find a contortionist with a torch to get in and remove some trim to lever the lock from the inside.
Not sure if this old thread will help... http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?/topic/18369-tailgate-door-jammed/

ok, so...

By getting inside the car andforcing the trim back from immediately below the window glass, it is just posible to force the lever towards the passenger side and trip the lock. Of course the lever is hard to see but the lock barrel mechanism would normally operate the lever so push a large screwdriver in the gap and move it towards the passenger side. ...taken from 'Grolsch-Drinker', a member on fordgalaxy.org.uk site.

With my newly learnt contortionist training, thanks google  ??? . Just need to gaffer tape a small torch to my wrist and I am good to go and get it opened. Finally remembering to spray WD40 on everything I can see afterwards if it works when open and also check the wires in the rear hatch gator as I won't want to do it again
