Hi all
just been for puncture repair,  while tyre off   front passenger side   i was looking around .,   i noticed the plug that clips to the pad sensor was missing,    the pads were replaced a while ago and the chap doing the tyre reckoned they had broke it when fitting new pads.   they had then joined the 2 wires to the sensor plug top together and tucked them away to make the circuit to keep the warning light off.   bit naughty

so can the top half be got  probably not,  its attached to the complete cable that is from the inner top wing down to the brake pad,   it then splits    one part to the brake sensor and the other to  another sensor near the disc.
any ideas welcomed   thanks

Annoying!

The simplest solution would be to acquire the plug and a length of cable from a scrapped car and then solder it together to the damaged loom you have. It they haven't insulated the wires from the elements then make sure you do as it won't take long for oxidisation to take place internally, making it a PITA to solder the new bit!

The sensor is held in with a single bolt, the problem you will have is removing the old sensor as they usually rust into the hub.
If it doesn't budge easily just drill out the old one but be careful not to catch the reluctor ring with the drill bit.

as the wires to the pad sensor are still there  i thought about joining them to tiny spades and siliconing them into the connector,   there is a red and a yellow      does it matter which way round they go ?

Not that I'm aware of, the circuit is a very simple ground loop. If ground is present the pads are ok, if its not the light is on.
