Has someone got a link to the correct VAG-COM Lead for my Gal.
I asked the seller of the link below and he said this was not suitable. my Gal is on a 2005 plate.

The more I learn makes me realise how little I know.

He's wrong, it is :)

Most likely he's confused with the year and thinking its a Mk3 (which isn't compatible) but as long as yours is a Mk2 then that lead is fine.
03 Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDI 115 Ghia in Spruce Green Metallic
With cream leather interior, Full Bodykit, Remapped at 145bhp, Lowered on 18's
17 Volkswagen Touareg 3.0 V6 Diesel in Slate Blue
262Bhp AWD and Factory fresh...for now!
58 Ford Transit 2.2 TDI 115 in Frozen White
With retrofitted everything except another slidey door! :)
LAUNCH X431 Pad PRO - Scanning & Coding for all makes and models done in Wiltshire in exchange for winegums! :)

Probably because it doesn't have Ford Galaxy on the list that's why he's saying it's not suitable, a lot of people don't realise that the MK1 & 2 galaxy is VW.
2016 Vauxhall Insignia Elite Nav in White 2.0CDTI Manual.
2023 VW Transporter T6.1 SE In Silver 2.9TDI 150PS. 7 Speed DSG Wheelchair accessible day vehicle.

With VCDS lite (full version) need a code clearing or want to scan for faults in the north kent area, PM me. All for a pint of Strongbow.

Thanks guys [THANKS], I'll let him know a order one.

I recieved this message from the seller on Ebay:
Hi, your car is not on the compatibility list so it will not work. As per listing description it is for use with VAG cars only (VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda). You're welcome to try it if you wish.

I ordered one and replied that I will let him know how it goes.

I can tell you where the connector port is but I've no experience of using the software I'm afraid. The port is underneath the trim that surrounds the fusebox flap below and to the right of the steering wheel. Coloured purple, it's just visible (underneath the fusebox) in the 5th picture in this article.

There are some articles in the reference library regarding diagnostic help, take a look in the 'Diagnostic Software and Reference' section here (second one down).
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

Thank you, I did tried the search with no luck.

First I'd get the seller to send you a working disc with the drivers on it, or at least a link to where you can download them.

Windows won't always get the right drivers for everything to work properly. I had issues with mine originally because it used some other FTDI drivers from something else I had been working on that used an FTDI chip inside it too.

TS probably better to download VAG-COM or VCDS-LITE from the Ross-Tech site, which is usually linked to in the eBay listings anyway. I've only used mine with XP or now Windows 98!

Thanks SiverBeast,
The seller gave me a dropbox link for it, including the drivers.
