hiya all, my dad's galaxy, not mine, he's had  a light on dash (brakes I think) he had a snapped spring changed (I think unrelated) but no power going to OBD, 2 tried, clock and horn stopped working, any ideas for me, lol I HATE electrics ha ha ha

Have you checked all fuses?
Also there was issues with a splice of wires on passenger side that caused loss of power on certain circuits,not sure if it was for those circuits but have a look in red library as there is a write up.

As for the brake pad light get the other issues sorted first and see if that goes out also,if not will be a case of checking pads first as they could be worn and it is a genuine warning or there is a sensor/wiring issue they are known to corrode at plug

Does the 2.8 have the usual mk2 fusebox under the bonnet that goes into meltdown? (near the battery).

Does it actually start in its current state? Its not clear from your post why your connecting to the obd port, so is anything else not working?
