Hi
I have a ford galaxy 2010 automatic with 29000 miles on the clock.
Recently gear changes erratically.
You can see the rev counter going up and down when driving at a steady speed and gear changes for no reason.
Anyone experienced similar problem and found a solution.
Thank you

Greetings!

I'm afraid automatic gearbox faults can (but of course not always) be quite involved and not straightforward to fix, however, as a first step you really need to get the vehicle plugged in to a diagnostic tester to see if any fault codes have been stored. Have any warning lamps/ messages been displayed at all?

Car has been plugged in but no fault showed.
The was a warning once ever after a long period that the car was not used.
I have reset that with the key and the pedal.

Hm, well in that case it's a tricky one. If the revs are fluctuating as you drive at a steady speed on constant throttle for no reason then your fault may be engine/management related and nothing to do with a fault with the autobox, the gears may be changing because the management is seeing a change in engine revs and shifting gear accordingly.

Without fault codes it's hard to know where to start, if it's only done 29000 miles then that's not a lot, it you haven't already done so it may be worth going to a Ford dealer and checking to see if it's something they've come across before or if there are any TSB's / service messages relating to this fault.

I pressed Accelerator  pedal, brake pedal together and held key on start position for 10 seconds.
Engine malfunction message was removed and never came back again. That happened about a year ago.
