Hi I wanted to know the difference between the 115/285 &115/310. I'm sorry for what might be a dumb question to you experts on here.lol. Thankyou in advance. Chris.

The 115 is the engine max. power output in horsepower (115hp) and the 285 or 310 the max. torque in Nm, the basic engines are the same I believe, it's just a mapping change that results in the extra torque. If I understand correctly, the 115hp engine in the Mk2 is engine code AUY, usually there's a bar coded sticker on the uppermost plastic timing belt cover of the engine that will have the basic engine code on it- if yours is still legible you should be able to see 'AUY' on it somewhere. The increased max. torque output is denoted by a '1' on the end of the AUY, but confusingly you won't see the 1 after the engine code on said sticker even if you have an 'AUY1' variant- the reason for this is because, as stated above, the basic engine unit is the same, it's just a software change. If you have an 'AUY' then you have the 115hp/285Nm version, if you have an 'AUY1' then you have the 115hp/310Nm variant. There's a bit more discussion on it here.
