Just changed my pollen filter earlier and noticed what looks like a hose missing off my erg valve can anyone shed some light on this doe me please? Thanks

Do you mean the little connector stub on the black plastic canister just left of centre in the picture? I believe that should be connected to a small diameter vacuum pipe which controls the 'anti shudder flap'- a butterfly in the EGR valve housing which closes when the engine is switched off, it's supposed to reduce vibration as the engine stops turning over.

Thanks I wonder where that hose has went  ???

With VCDS lite (full version) need a code clearing or want to scan for faults in the north kent area, PM me. All for a pint of Strongbow.

Seems a bit odd it's disappeared, it's not the kind of thing that would randomly fall off, unless somebody has previously disconnected it in the mistaken belief that it'll disable the EGR. Have a good hunt around in the rear of the engine bay and see if you can find the end of a small bore rubber hose tucked away somewhere!

So this little connector stub. Where does it show you it on your schematic view of the pipework? I can only see a hose going from the top of the egr valve To the N18

It's not very clear on the schematic but I believe the anti shudder flap actuator is number 1 (the canister unit with the rod coming out of it), why they didn't show it with or next to the EGR valve to make it clearer escapes me.....

D'oh.......I see Chris already wrote what I have just said a few posts up!

Are these hoses the same diameter or are they all different. I'd like to replace them all at some stage. Is there any information available as to what size is what??cheers
