Had front passenger tyre changed today due to wear on the outside and had tracking done (hunter),Even had print out before and after. Noticed over the last month car pulling slightly to the left .Did hit a drain or lack of drain on way back from hols.
.The car is worse the steering wheel is not straight and the car pulls to the left ,need to put a bit of pressure on steering wheel to right to stop it going left.I tried the car in flat car park and im sure if I would have taken hands off wheel it probably would have gone round in circle!!!!!Have also checked the trye pressure all good.
I will be going back to the garage.Any ides before I go in.
Ta

Can you scan in the print out?

Check they have selected the right car to start. I had a 4-wheel alignment done and the garage picked a Mk3 Galaxy by mistake which caused similar behaviour
03 Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDI 115 Ghia in Spruce Green Metallic
With cream leather interior, Full Bodykit, Remapped at 145bhp, Lowered on 18's
17 Volkswagen Touareg 3.0 V6 Diesel in Slate Blue
262Bhp AWD and Factory fresh...for now!
58 Ford Transit 2.2 TDI 115 in Frozen White
With retrofitted everything except another slidey door! :)

hi, Thanks for reply.
ive tried to add photo of print out.

Assuming alignment is all ok and from printout it looks like is,then I can only see it being down to tyres. Have you got different makes/tread depths on the front?

Left front caster is substantially worse than before the work.  Right front camber slightly so.

Whether the above is the cause of your issue is open to question but it surely shouldn't have some out with worse figures than when it went in.

Would be good to see the rear figures.

Just come back from Garage, they took car out and agreed with pulling to the left.Guy reckons that when it was heated up to undo something underneath he did not give I time to cool down.!!!!!
We also noticed that the track rod end  is hand loose and he reckons I should get a
new one.(should I change both and are they simple today)
Car still pulls over but only the same as it went in before tracking done.

What do you mean by track rod end is hand loose?

Its really easy to move .Compared to other side.
Would this cause car to go to left .I have had steering wobble and knocking going over bumps from left

It could do if there is play in it,could also cause wobble and willy feeling. Best to get it changed and alignment done again

CASTER FIGURES HAVE ALTERED AFTER THE ADJUSTING, PROBABLY DUE TO WRESTLING TO UNDO TRACK ROD END LOCKNUT...sorry caps lock on !!
final readings show both front wheels are set properly (in green boxes) ,I use hunter stuff and they are soooooooooooooooooooooo sensitive...even tightening locknuts makes the readings alter.  try swapping the front wheels over left to right.
if its been pulling over for a while, the tyres will be coned and even after track being reset they will still cause car to pull over---------if swapped left to right they effectively try to drag car to the opposite side it pulls to.
after that im afraid its a new pair of front tyres and re-check tracking.

Hi all, change the two rods over on both sides (Ã,£35)took 2hrs on Sat, had tracking redone ,all good thanks all.

Sounds like the tracking was out. Change the rods and realign
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.
