Mk3 Galaxy - Performance Air Filter

I have the 1.6 Ecoboost 160ps version of the vehicle and I am looking to improve both MPG and performance for when the car is loaded with people and kit, including a 4-bike rack on a towbar.
I've looked at K&N Filets and Pipercross but cannot find one for my vehicle?
Also, as part of the performance and efficiency gains, looking at fitting a bluefin (superchips) remap... any experince or comments?

I had no trouble finding the correct K&N filter. Even though I have the 1.8TDCi version, the filter I used is for all engines (both petrol and diesel). E.g. Amazon sells this one: KN filter ford galaxy WA6. Pretty much the only important thing here is the shape, so it fits the airbox.

As for bluefin, personally I don't have it, but some of the guys on slovak ford club forum have had their mounted on couple of Fiestas and Mondeos with EcoBoost engines and say nothing but good things about them. The only comment is, don't go secondhand. As far as I know, they are tailored to fit a specific car and won't work properly unless reprogrammed (same price). A good retailer will also give warranty.

Just a tip. The Ecoboost engines do not do well with aftermarket panel filters or cone filters. Save your money as the standard paper filer is much better for this car. Fact ;-)


As for the Bluefin. Like said DO NOT get a second hand one. Yes they work, yes you feel a difference; yes you can put the car back to standard anytime.
