how do i remove the rear license plate light from plastic housing on tailgate, does the housing have to come off as I've tried prising it out but not much luck , think i might have to access it from the back

hi had same problem place a small flat head screw driver in the slot of the clear glass this should release the spring holding the glass to the boot good luck
