Retrofit VW cruise control stalk to Galaxy V6

Hi All,

I have a dead clock spring so no cruise control, volume control or horn.
The horn issue has been sorted with a button in the steering column wired to the horn.

I would like to get cruise control working. I recall when driving a Sharan V6 that the cruise control was controlled on the end of the indicator stalk, not via the MFSW.

Can this easily be retrofitted to my Ford? I'm assuming the workings of the system are the same but the controls were made different between the brands.

A clock spring is nearly Ã,£400 new and they are very rare secondhand (plus a used one could be faulty anyway).

Yes its possible to do but its not really worth the hassle as you'll be re-routing a lot of wiring in order to do this. On a non MFSW car the wiring is direct from the stalk to the ECU to control the cruise. On the MFSW car, the signals from the MFSW have to be decoded first so a controller is fitted to do this. You'll need to get up close and personal with the CJB to strip out the controller and re-route all its wires.

Get a second hand one, they shouldn't be a common fail tbh.

Thanks for the reply and eBay link. I've just bought it. At that price worth a try.
I've had an eBay search set by part number and by the words 'clock spring' so it totally missed this item!

Using the VW stalk sounds like more than I'm able to do right now!
