D5Z-F Auxiliary Heater information request

Well I've got a replacement D5Z-F Auxiliary Heater from ebay.  Ã,£250 delivered by the seller from Worksop! It was a new replacement fitted to an 05 in December 2012 and removed in May 2013 when car was scrapped (receipt from Ford provided).

My existing heater is working intermittently and I have had a look on VCDS-LITE and failures are either Open or Closed circuit on Glow Plug.  In the FAQ's it states that the System Voltage should be displayed when the engine is running.  Just wondering if any one knows if this is correct for the D5Z-F as on the original heater (still fitted) this is blank with no voltage displayed.   I am aware that there are sometimes problems with the voltage supply wire (and also the control board failing!) and wondered if this may be what is causing the problem with this heater, rather than an internal problem with the heater.

I've already stripped and rebuilt the heater (some pictures already posted - lots more available Mirez).

Obviously I'll check when I fit the new replacement heater and report back if no-one has an answer.

Humm curious, I would have thought it should display the voltage just like its predecessor - it must have a supply though else you woudn't be able to communicate with it as the K-Line is just diagnostics and provides no power.

Yeah send what you have to WIP@dev.fordmpv.com - could I ask you also send anything you have on the aux fuse box? That's the next thing that needs a how-to!

Cheers, M

Thought that might me the case.  It may be a symptom of the control board failure I guess.

Can you normally connect to the Auxiliary Heater controller without the ignition on? I have a vague recollection of being able to do this in the past.

I'll check it all out and report back when I connect the new heater, which I'll probably do electrically before removing the old one.

I have 175MB in my Galaxy folder (some rubbish and some duplicates). If you PM/email me your address I can post you a CD with them on if you like.  I don't think I have it from when you sold me the parking sensors.
