Engine malfunction light

I have a 2008 s max 2.2 litre diesel. Recently the engine malfunction light has come on and the engine looses power. if I stop and restart the engine it's fine. It happened three times recently on a six hour trip mainly when needing power to overtake but didn't happen on the way home. The car was serviced yesterday and its happened again help!

If the management lights come on then a fault code will have been logged so it would be advisable to have it scanned for faults.

It could be any number of issues to be honest, the loss of power is the car going into "Limp" mode to get you home. When you cycle the ignition you are resetting the error which is why it works ok again afterwards.

i too get this from time to time,research ive done suggests it could be 1 of the wheel sensors playing up.
but everytime ive had it,i then check the onboard diagnostic and nothing has been logged.
saying that i now do have a couple of faults codes logged but im still trying to get what then mean.
