Can you confirm your vehicle details? You've posted this in the Mk3 Galaxy section but your profile says you've got a Mk2, and the Mk2's never had 2 litre TDCI engines.

I'm not au fait with the fault code descriptions relating to the number you quoted (P2263) but a quick search suggested it relates to turbo boost control issues, which could range from split boost pipes to a dodgy turbo control actuator (the black electrical box fitted onto the turbo itself, if it has an electrically actuated turbo fitted) to sticking vanes if it has a variable geometry turbo fitted.

P.S, I've no direct experience of this.

could it be the big pipe going to intercooler

If the pipe is split or not sealing properly then yes, there's a good chance it could be that, though split boost pipes usually cause general loss of power and maybe black smoke when accelerating, not so much rough running or a misfiring sensation.

someone said might be egr blocked any idea how to get to it please

Can't help you there as I've never worked on the 2 litre TDCI engine. The valve usually sits in the vicinity of the cylinder head and manifolds depending on how it's plumbed in.

Give it a good revving up, that usually clears things out
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I would hazard a guess and say car is either fixed or sold on as it was 4 years ago the OP posted.

Would be nice if we could have an update in case others have similar problems, please could you let us know julieade thank you
