I have a problem with the locking on the rear passenger door, there is some movement of the handle on both lock and unlock but not enough and this is leaving the door unlocked. Sorry should point out this is with the central locking, manual operation is ok. Is this likely to be a worn actuator or tight/worn mechanism?

sounds like a binding cable in the inside lever mech.{the handle thats used to open the door from the inside} could also be a duff central locking actuator.  :) let us know how you get on  8)

will do, many issues to short. all look minor! (here's hoping).
many thanks,

Had the same problem, cause was split wires in rubber shielding between door and door post

Thanks for the advice.
I think this might be different as the power supply is reaching the actuator but looks like not enough movement to unlock the mechanism.

The motors in the door were continually trying to lock, repaired the wires and everything worked again, have a look it may save you a bit of time.

Damaged wires may cause the problem as they may not let enough current through if some/most of the strands have fractured to allow the motors to exert enough force

thanks for the info, its going to have to wait a while now before i get chance to look as going up north this weekend, will update when spanners have been used in anger!! >:(
