Does anyone know if there is a there a switched live feed in the fuse box in an 05 tdi, before I go and buy a multimeter.

There will be a switched live in fuse box, where are you looking to fit the dock? Would it be easier to take a switch feed from back of radio?

I'm no auto electrician, and I understand from the guys that fitted the Parrott handsfree that there's not much room behind the radio now so was hoping to leave well alone.
If there's an available switched live in the fusebox, I'm sure I can fit a fuse spur to power up my dock.
Holder is next to the r/h cup holder.

I took mine off the back of the radio and used a Mazda usb conversion in a Galaxy switch housing

There is a fair bit of room around the rear or radio/heater controls,if I were you I would tap off the radio harness and if room is a bit tight take heater control panel out so you can get hand in to guide radio wiring in to the space behind heater panel.

I'll delve in tomorrow, cheers guys.

I have just piggybacked off number 6 which is the horn. It's switched live so only gets power when ignition on.

Thanks Adam, I've not had a chance to sort this out yet, but would prefer to use the fuse box so will check if fuse 6 is the same as your Sharan.

If you have electric mirrors then those are usually a good bet to pick as well, just in case you can't get your fuse adapter to fit (the nextbase ones are awkward as the way the cable comes out means a lot of sockets on circuits you'd pick it won't fit into)

Result, tapped into fuse 6.
I was fitting a Brodit phone dock, so I could stream music through the Parrott and use Google maps as a satnav without draining my phone before I'd got there.
:)

Nice one. Take it the fuses are the same Sharan to galaxy :)

On the diesels they should be, petrol not so much though common fuses should be the same the engine related ones at least aren't identical.
