I need to remove the instrument cluster panel to check the lights for he abs but cant find anything to give me direction and just goin around in circles looking. Thanx in Advance for any help.

You should find a couple of screws in the top edge of the surrounding plastic, the insert bit then comes out, remove two screws either side of the clocks and then it should hinge down from the top edge )you might need to pull it down with an allen key or similar).

However - Its an LED as far as I know (most but not all of the cluster is) - these don't usually blow. Is it not coming on, or are you trying to stop it coming on? If its the later and your trying to get it through an MOT it will fail, as the tester will see it doesn't come on with the ignition as it should do. The best way to stop it coming on is to find whats causing it to come on (VCDS and a cable will allow you to do that with a laptop, cables can be had off eBay or similar for a few pounds) fix it and reset the errors on the abs unit. Even the abs sensors aren't usually too expensive and reasonably easy to fit.

Your good Brian lol last year my abs light came on a day or so b4 my mot so my m8 took the cluster out and put some tape there and guess what it passed its mot, now this time round i got one who noticed it ran the fault through the vcds and revealed both the abs fault and my airbag light so it came back to haunt me both though it only filed because the light didn't com on so im going to reset it and sort the fault out "intermittent communication" same as the air bag. Tried everywhere to buy a rear passenger door wiring loom as the one i got is badly chewed by the door but they seem to be like the proverbial rocking horse doo doo so god knows how im goin to get round that one for sure. These mot centres are funny places one failure was odd tyres on the rear axel yet they are the same tyres from last yr, the car went through 3 or 4 mots with one particular thing yet passed every time along came a new tester and bang it failed, you point it out to them and they spout out some crap to cover their backsides which is very annoying and you cant argue as they will find more faults to fail you on for sure. Thanx for the pointer on how to remove the cluster be doing that in the morning.

Been there and done it - Brought a Land Rover a couple of years ago which had had the ABS light on covered up with tape by someone previously. Only discovered at MOT, as it didn't light up.

It took about 15 minutes to fix the fault, but about an hour to get back into the cluster, get it apart and make the light work again (remove insulation tape, clean off marker pen that had also been used).

Hi Brian, ive been and looked but there isint any visible screws to get into the back of the cluster so not sure where to start now m8, any advice please Thanx

Lower the steering column adjuster.
You need to remove the steering column shrouds to gain access to the two screws on the lower edge of cluster, the top edge is only clipped so slide a trim tool or similar to release top edge.
