Oil fliter Change

I decided to change the oil & filter today thinking it should be a quick & easy job.

I ended up having the break up the oil filter plastic housing to undo it! It was so tight I could not shift even with a strap wrench or chain wrench. I had a spare one so I have been able to put it back but it was really tight so I think I'll change the whole thing. Has anyone got one I could buy?

Have you just changed the plastic screw in part? If so I wouldnââ,¬â,,¢t change anything else as you have solved the problem. What happens people put them back on with o ring dry and go way over the top tightening them up. If memory serves correct it should only be 15 or 25nm should say on the top.

Yes Please Could we arrange that. When I put the spare plastic top back in it was really tight and I noticed some of the threads were damaged in the aluminium part so I would rather change it .  Let me know how to pay you .

To damage the ally threads the last person must have swung off a breaker bar tightening that up!

mine was also tight and only thing that helped was actual vice i had in my garage and was not fested to workbench  ;D
Buying this car after knowing all common problems feels bit sadistic, but then again, my main income is from growing potatoes in arctic.
